Ubuntu 11.10


  • Now that Ubuntu 11.10 is out, it is time to install a fresh new VM.


    • Download ubuntu 11.10 (64-bit) - 697MB iso file (731,164,672 bytes)

    • Upload .iso to esx server

    • Create new virtual machine

    • Install apps:

      • java

      • tomcat (activate manager)

      • groovy

      • apache2

      • jenkins (needs its own settings.xml)

      • maven (download) - Apache Maven 3.0.3 (r1075438; 2011-02-28 10:31:09-0700)

      • nexus

      • openssh

      • nmap

    Reset Button
    Reset will be initiated when the reset button is pressed once and Power LED begins to
    flash.
    Factory Reset will be initiated when the reset button is pressed continuously for three
    seconds or when the Power LED begins to light up. Release the reset button and the
    Power LED will begin to flash indicating that the DCS-900’s settings are reverting back
    to the factory settings. The IP address will also return to the default setting of 192.168.0.20.

    To reset this device push a paper clip (or other pointy device) into the reset hole for 10 seconds.  When it comes back to power it will have IP=192.168.0.20/255.255.255.0.
    Set your computer's Ethernet connection to manual and give it a network friendly IP address.
